“In my art, I use digital photographs I take - with anything but a well thought out plan - in the moment of experiencing a place in my travels or while seeking the remnants of days past in the South. Multiple photos, pieces of photos and layers of information are used to create my artworks, which I call a “Digital Montage”. Reflection on the place, the experience of being there, and, often, memories of past times find their way into the works, especially in the use of color. The images are printed on unconventional media such as matte film, brown kraft paper and watercolor paper. Sometimes fragmented and surreal, as opposed to literal in the representation of that place in that time, my works have been considered to depict the “Southern Gothic”.”
