DON JACOBS is a Jackson artist/muralist who specializes in realistic large-scale paintings and murals. He painted an extensive mural in the conference room of the Mississippi Governor’s mansion in 2005 and has works in collections scattered from California to Europe. His work has been featured in (and on the cover of) MISSISSIPPI Magazine, and he's been the subject of Mississippi Public Broadcasting television segments on both "Mississippi Roads" and "Southern Expressions".
Having grown up primarily in Brookhaven, MS, he later spent nearly a decade in Europe where he studied art and received his degree in Graphic Design. He eventually returned to Mississippi to pursue a career as a Commercial Artist, which eventually led to a fascination with large-scale painting and a specialization in mural work. Though trained in Graphic Design, he’s self- taught as a painter. Jacobs is also a songwriter and musician with two albums of original music to his credit. He’s also the producer of an annual summer musical event in Brookhaven, MS known as BROOKSTOCK.
