A weaver since 1992, I learned much of my craft through self-study, but I have also taken workshops in various fiber techniques. A fellow of the Craftsmens’ Guild of MS, I am also a member of Dyed-in-the-Wool Weavers and Spinners of the MS Gulf Coast and a lifetime member of the Ocean Springs Art Association. I have taught a weaving class at the Mary C O’Keefe Cultural Center and from time to time I demonstrate weaving as part of the weavers guild’s mission to educate the public in the craft. I weave scarves, shawls, vests, jackets, and household linens using cotton, rayon, silk, bamboo or soy silk yarns. Occasionally I use wools, cashmere or mohair. I love to make fabric to create one-of-a-kind clothing. My handwovens can be purchased at the Craft Center in both Biloxi and Ridgeland,MS as well as the Ohr-O-Keefe Museum Shop, and I do commissioned work as well. I have been honored with merit awards in the followiing shows: Peter Anderson Festival, Ocean Springs Art Association, Singing River Art Association and Handweavers’ Guild of America.
The more I learn about weaving, the more I want to know, and there’s enough weaving knowledge in the world to make learning a life-long exploration of fiber.
