Jerrod is a full time artist and drawing instructor living and working in the Fondren neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi. He and his wife have three young children who often provide inspiration for paintings. Jerrod grew up in Mobile, AL, and has been in the Jackson area since 1995, except for a short stint in New York City where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the New York Academy of Art in 2004. His undergraduate degree is from Mississippi College where his primary study was Graphic Design. During his undergraduate years he spent a semester in London studying art history. Jerrod is a 2011-2012 recipient of a Visual Arts Fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission, and is co-creator of the Jackson based pop-up gallery Art Space 86. Every summer Jerrod leads a trip to Italy called “A Visual Exploration of Tuscany Through Drawing and Painting” which is open to anyone interested in “really seeing” the Tuscan countryside based at the breath taking Tenuta di Spannocchia just outside of Siena.
A majority of Jerrod’s work is done in oils on his own handmade paper. His work can be seen by appointment at his studio in the historic Fondren neighborhood of Jackson; Southside Gallery in Oxford, Mississippi; The Attic Gallery in Vicksburg, Mississippi, or on his website www.jerrodpartridge.com.
Jerrod is available for portrait and other commission work. He is also available to teach group drawing workshops.
