About June M Ward

June is inspired by color and light. She paints from life but just reproducing the subject is not her goal. She wants to represent the subject honestly but primarily seeks to transform her interpretation of that moment of observation into a beautiful painting.

Various locals and Ward’s love of gardening and flowers provides a variety of subjects for her flower and landscape paintings.

June is a member of OIL Painters of America, Women Painters of the Southeast, is a regional Director for the MS Chapter of the National Museum for Women in the Arts, Washington, DC. (and was named MS’s Honored Artist for that organization in Aug, 2013). She currently has a one-artist exhibit at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art, Biloxi, MS., there until Dec.6, 2014.
