Ken Murphy has published four award winning photographic coffee table books featuring the beauty and diversity of his home state of Mississippi. They are: c2001 “My South Coast Home, Photographs of the Mississippi Gulf Coast”, c2007 “Mississippi, Photographs by Ken Murphy”, c2010 “Mississippi: State of Blues” and c2014 “Jackson, Photographs by Ken Murphy”.
Ken is a disabled Army Sargent who discovered photography after losing his right index finger to a tank gun simulator known as a Hoffman Device. Upon reassignment to a hobby shop he discovered and feel in love with photography. In 1986, seven years after being released from the Army he received a BFA Degree in Narrative, Documentary and Editorial Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He has worked as a commercial/art ever since.
